
In presence of Mrs. Fabienn Besson ( Head Of Social And Civil Department In The Office Of EU In Jerusalem ), Mr. Sabstien Leorin ( Responsible For Grant Programs In Department " A " To Europe And Mediterranean Sea Countries ), Mrs. Marina Juan Oliva ( Director Of The Program Of Non-Civil Organizations ), Mr. Ayman Ftaiha ( Responsible Of EU Office In Gaza ), Mr. Ahmed Saken ( HADAF's Board Chair ), Dr. Yusef Safi ( HADAF's Executive Director ), ( 40 ) female and male youth from university students and volunteers, and a number of media institutions,
HADAF Center For Human Rights organized a workshop under the title " Promoting Youth's Rights To Live In A Tolerance Environment Free Of Violence " .
The workshop was opened by Dr. Yusef Safi who welcomed the visit of EU Delegation to HADAF Center For Human Rights, stressing the importance of this visit in enhancing cooperation between EU and HADAF, and enhancing the state of human rights and democracy in the Palestinian Society . He added that this workshop has come within activities of its project " Promoting Youth's Rights And Civic Engagement ", thanking EU for their support to this project. On the other hand , he thanked project team, educational and awareness team, and advocacy team for their great efforts to ensure success of activities of the project. He also thanked administration of Al- Azhar, Islamic, Al-Quds, Al- Aqsa universities, the NGO's, and key community figures for their constructive efforts, and thanked local media institutions for covering activities of the project.
On the other hand, a documentary film was presented highlighting activities implemented in the project " Promoting Youth's Rights And Civic Engagement ", focusing on the project objectives, target groups, and achievements realized.
In a presentation to Mr. Yehia Rabah ( A Key Journalist ) he expressed his deep anxiety for dissemination of intolerance culture in the Palestinian Society and specifically among youth category, and expressing his great sorrow for absence of media role in promoting tolerance culture, stressing the need for local media to enjoy tolerance culture, and to take its role in promoting this culture in the Palestinian Society.
In the some context, and in a presentation of Mr. Mohamed Al Mozayen ( Researcher On Tolerance Among University Students ), he stressed absence of tolerance culture among university students, indicating that tolerance is a humanitarian need, and international requirement, calling universities to take their role in educating tolerance and human rights.
Finally, open discussion took place, many important questions raised for guests who answered them, to end with important conclusions and recommendations to enhance tolerance culture in the Palestinian Society. |
