The Center Organizes A Workshop On Experiences Volunteering Work

HADAF Center For Human Rights organized a workshop under the title " Volunteering Work – Experiences " within activities of its project " Promoting Youth's Rights And Civic Engagement " , funded by ( EU & NHRF ).

Mr. Marei Basheer ( Founder Of Without Boarders Volunteers Group ) highlighted the historical stages volunteering passed in the
Palestinian Society, making clear that Palestinian Universities in eighties constituted the theater for volunteering work, as they contributed in assisting the needy citizens, and assisting farmers.

He also indicated that the social pressure, and the hard economical states the Palestinian Society passes in resulted in the backward of volunteering work and change in its concepts, making clear that volunteering work needs three factors:

1. Moral national and humanitarian component
2. Value and Law that protects volunteers

Importantly, he clarified the difference between volunteer work, and volunteer behavior, stressing that volunteer behavior comes out from individual's humanitarian value and this can be seen in the street, houses and other volunteering activities, which volunteering work is limited to institutions and ministries.
